Taffy Raphael is a professor of
teacher education and educational psychology. She specializes in
literacy instruction with a particular interest in reading and
writing instruction in the upper elementary grade levels. She has
explored alternative instructional frameworks for integrating
reading and the language arts, developing groups, and organized a
language arts inquiry group of teacher-researchers interested in
developing a network of professionals committed to improving
literacy instruction.
